A Virginia native, Kat moved to NYC after graduating cumme laude from Virginia Commonwealth University with a B.F.A in Dance and Choreography. Upon relocating she quickly began freelancing with several NYC-based choreographers in addition to company work with Mary Seidman and Dancers (maryseidmananddancers.org) and Jessie Jeanne and Dancers (jessiejeanneanddancers.com) The work with these two incredible women enabled Kat to perform at several venues both domestically and abroad while also connecting her to a powerful community of aspiring artists.
While simultaneously pursing her performance career and investigating ways to leave her then bar tending gig, Kat happened upon Uplift Studios, a female-only fitness studio that was looking for hire teachers for their new programs. After six wonderful years at Uplift where she focused on group fitness and personal training, Kat moved on to pursue new teaching and coaching opportunities. She now teaches for Obé Fitness,a nationwide streaming platform, in addition to working as a strength and conditioning coach at Fortitude Strength Club NYC and the Calhoun School.
In between teaching and coaching classes, Kat also sees private clients all over NYC. Personal training is where she gets to combine her love of movement with strength and conditioning protocols that allow clients to see amazing results and to become excited about reaching their physical potential.
.At the end of the day, human beings are all designed to move. Kat aims to help people find various ways to do so and to hopefully better connect people to their bodies and to each other.
